About
eXoticforms was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 2001 and is the reflection of my commitment to consistently deliver quality, artful and innovative design solutions.
I have always had interests in the nuts and bolts of things. Taking things apart and putting them back together has been a steady hobby since about four years old. Equally, I enjoy understanding why things don’t work and putting my mind toward improving form and function.
I grew up in Denver, CO and relocated to Brooklyn, NY in 1996. Not quite sure what I was going to be when I grew up, I spent a few years in various business technology sales and consulting roles. The tech market took a tumble in 2000 and the events at the WTC sent me home to take care of my young kids and figure out what I wanted to do. I credit my experiences in New York with providing the inspiration to follow what I love and turn it into my own business in 2001, when I began building lamps on my living room floor. In 2006 I relocated to Freeport, Maine. However, I found myself spending less time immersed in art and design while building a new studio space for well over a year. Life, work, relationships, and love of city life (Brooklyn in particular) brought us back to Brooklyn in August 2009. I’m now splitting time between Maine and New York.
I look forward to designing with the thoughts of the places I’ve been and people I’ve met clearly in mind.
