eXoticforms’ studio was located at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in Brooklyn New York from 2001-2006. The navy yard is an industrial wonderland surrounded by the waters of the East River with the Williamsburg Bridge to the north and Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges to the south. I found endless sources of inspiration from the interspersed icons of industry which are still in working order but slowly deteriorating and being scraped away.
In November 2006 eXoticforms studio space was transplanted from NYC to Freeport Maine. In Maine, my studio has grown to accommodate for design, fabrication, photographic, and play space all in same building.
The ability to effectively collaborate with clients to fulfill their design requirements sets eXoticforms apart. One-of-a-kind designs for home dwellers and short-run, specialty product design projects is where eXoticforms excels.
Most projects are initially synthesized through computer modeling and 3D rendering. This process helps to make dreams become reality by providing a clear visual presentation of a project’s aesthetics, measurements, and mechanical functionality.
In addition to the in-house knowledge, tooling, computing abilities, clients also appreciate relationships with a network of designers and fabricators who have additional specialties and technical abilities.
Steel and wood are the staples of materials used, however I have extensive working knowledge of most materials including copper, aluminum, concrete, acrylic, cast polymers, textiles, and more.
My knowledge and experience in many fabrication and manufacturing standards and attention to project goals, including Return On Investment, lends to success.
